Building a new Catalonia
Design and layout of a collection of 35 articles about self-determination of Catalonia
From Emilio Botín to Standard & Poor’s warned that the democratizing threats against the regime were twofold: the Catalan process and a possible political turn in the state. Once the incapacity, scope and limitations of the second (which has been so much fought from the State itself) have become visible (and it is serious), only the Catalan crack remains as an operational framework and as an option for a democratic rupture that overcome the padlocks of 78. No one said it was easy, but more difficult and refutable will be to stay the same and in the same place. Memory and hope, yesterday as today, must open below and on the periphery what they intend to close again above and in the center. Whoever wants to do it will find utensils; who does not, sorry.
Building a new Catalonia is a collection of 35 articles by different international and national activists on the self-determination of Catalonia. For the cover design, an illustration is worked that combines photography and color line that seeks to reflect the collective and vindictive character of the publication. The editorial layout follows the graphic line of the redesign made for the Observatori collection of the same publisher.
